Puzzle games that respect your time

Puzzle games that respect your time

May 17, 2026 · Lukas Berger

The worst thing a mobile puzzle can do is stop you from playing it. Lives systems and forced waits killed my love of the genre for a while.

The games I keep now all share one thing: you can play as long as you want. Lantern Path isn't strictly a puzzler but it scratches that same calm problem-solving itch, and it never interrupts you.

When I test a puzzle game I look for a difficulty curve that teaches rather than punishes. A good level introduces an idea gently, then twists it. If a game jumps straight to frustration, I drop it.

If you're building an offline library, puzzles are the easiest win — most are tiny downloads and work perfectly without signal.
